FUNCTIONAL TAPING

Functional taping is a partial immobilization technique used to reduce healing time compared to conventional immobilization methods. A joint is in fact put into a non-weight-bearing position and protected only in the direction of the painful or pathological movement.

Taping

It may be indicated for sprains or dislocations, for muscle injuries or microfractures, but also in the case of considerable edemas and swelling. Taping should not be used on those who have skin problems or known allergies to adhesives (needed in taping). It is usually removed after 4/7 days, during which it allows for normal daily activities.
